Dr Regina Higgins – Writer, Editor, Storyteller

Regina Higgins is a writer and editor with more than thirty years of experience working with writers, publishers, universities, and nonprofits. Along the way, she’s been a college teacher, a university administrator, and an outreach director. But most of all, Regina is a storyteller.
Just after earning a Ph.D. in English at Indiana University, she took an opportunity to work with the Nobel Foundation, writing background material on the Laureates so that teachers in colleges and schools could share those inspiring stories with students. That experience led to other writing projects with National Geographic Books, Human Relations Media, Glencoe, McGraw-Hill, and Pearson. And then she wrote her own book on classic children’s literature, Magic Kingdoms, published by Simon & Schuster.
Since then, Regina’s written for NC State, the University of North Carolina, and Duke University. Her stories have appeared in Every Day Fiction, Luna Station Quarterly, and Rainbow Rumpus. Regina lives in Lexington, Kentucky, with her husband, and is currently working on a novel. She enjoys being part of the Zen Garden Club community.
